Our academic program focuses on each individual camper and his or her specific learning needs. We use the Orton-Gillingham language-based teaching approach, a highly effective method of instruction. This approach is diagnostic and prescriptive, but it also taps into the cognitive strengths in each child.
Campers learn about the structure of the English language through a systematic and analytical methodology adapted to each child. Our campers have four hours of academics each day and every class is prepared with their individual skills and challenges in mind.
We offer:
One-to-one Orton-Gillingham language tutorial
Small group class including: keyboarding instruction, touch typing, digital presentation skills, and digital photography
One hour of oral reading with a staff member daily
Daily study hall for each camper to work on strengthening the skills learned in tutoring.
Our campers have progressed as much as two grade levels in reading during the summer.
